I had used the same crappy knot for years. I had to look up what it was called, because crappy didn't look like my knot "LOL" Best I can tell I was using the Crawford Knot, it worked but had failed me over the years. Because I am older than the internet, I really never searched out anything different. Then I met @GregL at Alwaki a few years ago, who showed me one heck of a great knot called the Palomar knot. It is strong, way stronger then what i had been doing forever. I think every spring I text him to have him remind me what the knot is called  ::) Sorry Greg, I now have a spring reminder set on my phone  ;D

What are you doing for knots? I highly recommend you checking out Palomar knot.

I've been using the polymer knot for years, learned it when I was fishing bass tournaments.  Strong knot

Hi Chris,

I too use the Palomar knot almost exclusively. Only exception is I use the Double Uni knot to join lines together. Besides being good knots, both are simple enough to tie that I don't need to look up how to tie them.

Don't know the name of my knot but I've been using it since I was 12 years old.
Kind of a version of a hangman's noose.

Even the guys at the knot testing booths were impressed with it's strength.
It would always go over the scale in breaking strength

Fish are scared of it.

My vote goes to the

Polymer knot for tying baits & snaps on (Same for me, a pro showed me. But I only did a couple tourneys LOL!)

Double Uni-Knot for tying floro leader to main line.

Non-Slip Loop Knot for baits like Zara Spooks :)

Rhyback, I use the exact same knot. No clue what it is called but it works great. Learned it while watching Bob Izumi.

I just switched to a new knot for tying fluoro to braid, the Alberto Knot. I love this knot for the ease of tying and for the strength. Glides well too.

Check it out here: https://www.netknots.com/fishing_knots/alberto-knot#:~:text=Alberto%20Knot%20Tying%20Instructions,wraps%20away%20from%20the%20loop.

Looks good
I just use that same hangman's noose on both the braid and the leader and I'm good to go.
You can't teach an old man new tricks.
To much new info to retain

Days spent fishing don't count against life :)

Palomar knot for sure .

A bit of practice and you can tie this knot in the dark in seconds.

One of the strongest knots for fishing line mono or small dia fluorocarbon, and works excellent with braids.

Used to use the clinch knot when I was younger. Now it's palomar knot.

GregL

You don't need it, Palomar knot is the easiest to tie  :)

Here you go guys.  https://fishingpioneer.com/fishing-knots/

I use a variety of knots for varying reasons.

Important......ALWAYS wet your knot so not to create friction. Friction weakens your knot.

Palomar knot and double-uni for joining my florocarbon leaders to my Nanofil 8 lb. test.
A lot of people have gone over to the FG knot for joining leader material.
I'll stay with the tried, tested and sure of.
