How much time do you spend fishing per day?

EXTREME ANGLER - 12+ hours per day.  Head to camp early afternoon for 2-3 hours to clean fish, get more bait/drinks/snacks, eat a meal, etc....  Otherwise, lines in the water.

DIEHARD - 9-12 hours per day.  Usually go 3-4 hrs each in morning, afternoon, and evening.  Or split up between an AM and a PM adventure.

LINE SOAKER - 6-9 hours per day.  Don’t stay out on the water as long as the diehard.  Or maybe just relax around camp in the afternoon.

ENTHUSIAST - 3-6 hours per day.  More than likely you head out for 2-3 hours both in AM and PM.

VACATIONER - Less than 3 hours per day.  You fish while there, but you don’t go to Kipawa with the mindset of fishing is why you go.

Myself, most trips have run the gauntlet of the line soaker range.  Though whenever the next trip happens to be, firmly believe I’ll at least hit low end of diehard phase for 1st few days.

You forgot one category:

CAMP OWNER - 1-2 times per year (if lucky). You never get on the water to fish anymore because you're too busy working on the camp

I'm definitely really close to extreme.  Most days I'll be above the 12 hrs for sure.

Good point.

I just hastily typed up some thoughts that didn’t deal with conjecture over Quebec/Ontario and Canada/U.S. borders.  :-X

Depends on the day. If its super nice and we have friends or family up, Ill sit on the dock and swim all day. If its nice but its jsut me, Ill probably fish for a couple hours in the morning and a couple at night.

if its raining? Better suit up, I'm heading out at 8am and Ill see you back at 5pm! My neighbour's Pro-V has got a great enclosure, good space for a cooler and a banging stereo. Great boat for being out all day.

I like that LK...that sounds like a great day.
I’ll do a few early mornings, like 5:30am or so...but typically 7:30 til 10:30. And some days (but not all) an afternoon troll for lakers. All days a shift at 5:30 til maybe 10pm. It’s all about comfort out there in the camp boats - fold up chair, satellite radio, cold drinks, snacks, and (only while fishing) smokes!! Rod holder for the troll. Wow, if I close my eyes I can picture being there.....

Lol, close enough many days I don't fish. Content to have a beer or three on shore. having said that when the mood strikes. Then it's like lanielkid. Out in the morning then again an after dinner troll. Mostly done working on my camp but there's always something to do.

Enthusiast/Vacationer. Just enjoy the solitude of TBL Outpost and the view. We get our limit, but don't spend a lot of time trying.

I'm a camp owner but fish as a vacationer ...less than 3 hours a day.

I'm usually busy on a camp project from 9am until 4ish. We have a few cold ones, discuss the next steps of the project and get ready to fish. The bite that I know of happens around 530-8 pm.
We always catch what we need (we're that good...Lol) head back to camp, prepare and eat super.

We finish the evening with a nice hot sauna and a Scotch around the fire.

Repeat the next day and so on.

it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid.

Depends on the day really. Some days die hard, some line soaker. Definitely fish quite a bit while we're there. If we're on fish then it's easy to put time on the water. Some weeks that are a little tougher we definitely relax around camp more. We'll fish in the rain, but don't mess around on the really windy days. However you manage your time on kipawa it's always a good time. Hopefully not too many trips have to get cancelled this year 🤞

We tend to alternate between LINE SOAKER & ENTHUSIAST. Early in the week, mostly the line soaker, then towards the end of the week I have a harder time getting up at sunrise.

I enjoy my relaxing at camp as much as I do fishing the older I get, especial our fall trip. In September its full on Enthusiast, with maybe one predawn outing. Visiting with our group at camp and visiting with others is also on my favorite list! The entire experience is A+ and miss it terribly.

We are usually out around sunrise or close to it and stop around our dogs bladder LOL!

Back for a bite and relax for an hour then back out till dinner or dark depending on how we feel.

We definitely spend more time in the boat, with short 15-30min breaks on shore through out the day.

Before we had dogs it was a quick bathroom / lunch break, then out till dark but the older we get the lazier we are getting HAHA!

It’s been a decade+ since did a trip like that.  Rarely even pull a single all-dayer in a given year now.

If we do happen to make it out in the afternoon, it’s mostly scenic fishing.  By that, I mean maybe puttering along shorelines.  Lookin to see if landmarks we’ve seen for decades...such as certain dead trees on shore or up the hill....are still there or if time/weather finally brought them down.
Or maybe out off-shore trolling and lookin for random spots where it may come up to 15’-20’.

Sure, we’ll have lines in the water.  Just not overly alert to them or workin our lures much at all.  Kicked back and legs propped up, any hook-setting is all arms, no body involved lol!
More like chatting away while on a slow boat ride than worrying about catching fish.

LOL that's where I've been lately. But that's the best thing about fishing. It's whatever you want it to be. Smoking a cigar and cracking open an ale while trolling along the coast. Or working spots beating the lure or jigging a spot...
