There was only 2 of us this year. Zach had the place looking good. We caught 219 walleyes and 19 pike. I think personally i caught more walleyes than ever and the size was unbelievable. I caught 2-24inchers 1 24 and a half and a 25 inch. Then  a 28 inch on next to last day. Biggest pike was 36 and half. Rain one day one us but we fished and then Friday afternoon it really blew we stay at camp and cleaned up and packed everything up. No problems at the border either way. And no lines. The bugs wasn’t to bad i seen them worst for that time of the year. My old body is taking a few days to get over sitting in a boat all day and the ride home but it was worth it.

Tree Cutter - nice report, sounds like you had a great trip.  We will be there July 16th can't wait.  What cabin were you guys in?  How was the road in ?  I take it you didn't target any lake trout.

Tree cutter

We always stay in Cabin 5. The last road in is always bumpy but i seen it worse. And no we didn’t target Lake trout we always say we where going to try to fish for them but don’t .Walleyes was in the 8 to 12 foot of water all week.

We stayed in Cabin 5 last year.  This year headed back to Cabin 6 where we were in 2020.  Sounds like the walleye were really shallow.  I'm sure they'll be a bit deeper by the time we get there.

Trip Report - Spent July 16th -23rd at Sasseginaga.  Picked up our leeches and worms at Trapper Joe's, largest leeches I've seen.  Spent Friday night at Aul Bercail before driving in to Sasseginaga. Seems like road in was worse than road out.  Stayed in cabin 6 prettyuch mid point of the lake.  Rained heavy couple of the days with some pretty strong winds.  Fishing was really good but not as many as past two years. Didn't keep count but between three of us probably over 100 walleye, most within the slot largest 20 inches.  Few northern largest 30 inches.  My buddy Dan was reeling in a smaller walleye and had a huge northern take it.  Fought it for a while but eventually lost both the walleye and northern.  Had an excellent shore lunch with walleye and onion rings, and poached some walleye a couple times.
