Yeah...me and the boys are like giddy university freshmen going to our first kegger with a posse of sorority sisters assuredly in attendance. Well...maybe a bit more mature than that, but not much.

Down to three days, a wake-up, and a sea bag drag [still looking for the user that featured that statement, BTW]. Rods and reels packed, gear and tackle packed, non-perishable food and paper goods packed, massive excitement and anticipation overflowing. Pull out at 5:30AM on Friday morning...sucking on cold Blue's in North Bay by 5PM Friday afternoon. Whoo buddy...I think I'm gonna make it.

I do believe Dog/Crabby and John/Nancy are heading up on Friday also. Aren't the last few days the worst? I know 600 is there right now...so he's getting his.

So, things have been so quiet around here lately (and I've been consumed by work of late) that I'm not sure what's shaking up there. Is the fishing still hot? Are the skeeters starting to wane? Can I assume the black flies are gone-gone-gone? Are crawlers still outperforming leeches? Is bread still $3.79 / loaf? Are there any construction CFs on the 400 or Hwy. 11? What's the water temp? Where is the thermocline? Is Rhybak still cranky and bitter that I'm leaving in 3-days and he's not?  ::)

Well, no matter the answers to any of that...I'm switchin' to glide in about 72-hours...and that's what it is.

T, Your anticipation is coming through loud and clear but Ya gotta go lightly on General Rhybak. He has the power man!  I've seen first hand his ability to conjure up a 10 lb. walleye and from what I hear from his close buddies, he's close to mastering the "walking on water" feat. Still, the time "right before you leave" is the best cause when you do leave, that clock starts ticking and starts to wind down.  I hope we can expect a report as soon as that melancholy feeling subsides.  Good luck and may Kipawa's Fish God smile upon you and your group!

C.C.
You don't get these days back.  Live each day as if it were your last and one day you will be right.

T-Bone

Thanks C.C...a full report is promised...you know that. As for Mr. Rhybak (yeah... I have a healthy respect for him), he'll be fine. He has big things to look forward to...and yes...he's making me jealous again. Eh John?

And who knows...just because Simcoe doesn't happen in March doesn't mean...

Still 3...

Hey T Bone. Are you still going to Mullins cabin in Dead Bear?

NortonJoe

Down to three days here too and echo everything @T-Bone said...heck I feel like a kid right before Christmas!  It's hard to get the stuff done at work I need to!

RHYBAK

I thought this was the week of your departure.
Don't worry about me. It's not like I'm sitting idle at home waiting for my next Kipawa trip.
I've been catching Lake trout at the cottage every weekend.
Next weekend I'll be on Georgian Bay Salmon fishing ,Then back to the cottage for Bass, Pike and Lake Trout.
Fishing does not stop after Kipawa.

T-Bone, you have a great time and PLEASE come back with a picture of an 11 pound walleye.

Be safe and most of all be happy.

Hey Bone,
Yep the giddiness is rampant for me too.  I depart the homestead Thursday morning at oh-dark-thirty (1day, 22hrs) to drive to rendezvous with Dog and the rest of our crew Friday evening, then Saturday morning we all head north.
Time to giddy up!
SgtCrabby

RHYBAK

Wow, there seems to be a lot of you going this week.
There will be a lot of reading to do in two weeks.

T-Bone

@RHYBAK...if I bring back a picture of me holding an 11-pounder it'll likely be the last picture you ever see of me as I'll likely hyperventilate and fall in...  ;D ;D ;D. But yeah, that'd be sweet. To make it even more-rewarding, I'd like to catch it while slipping...and then I could share the success with you directly. As I say when I'm golfing....I'm always trying my best.

@penner...yes...we're at the outpost in DBB...and can't wait to get there.

Couple more days of daydreaming for a lot of us and then it's north we go...and I can't wait.

Safe travels to everyone headed north, especially you @SgtCrabby , since you have the largest distance to travel. And yes, the excitement has reached a furor peak here also.

SgtCrabby

Thanks Nancy.
I've known from the beginning that I probably go the farthest
(does that relate to the claim of 'everything is bigger in ..."?).

Strange how that small statement has suddenly come to the forefront of my mind during this countdown. But then again, maybe not so strange after all. I'll be sure to raise a Bleue to Whiskey Fox on our trip.

You are not getting any work done, SOOOOOOOOOOO You might as well just leave for Canada now.

John

Stop by and pick me and I'll go along.

John
Smile, every one will wonder what you have been up to.

T-Bone

I'm actually getting a lot done, but have to take a quick break every hour or so to remind myself to breathe. Sheesh...preparing to leave work for a week isn't as easy as it used to be.

And if I could, I would be there this evening to pick you up. We'd be in Kipawa by midnight or a little after. Ugh...that'd be great. But, I've heard it said somewhere before, all good things come to those who wait.

Well, I'm waiting...for Friday 5:30AM to arrive. In all reality, I just want this work week to be over....so Thursday at about 3PM is when I'll pull the plug on this and beat feet outta here. Whew...only about 51 hours from now.  ;D
