Bama

Scheduled to be at 3Seasons this Saturday. Just heard a ban may go back into effect. Anyone got info on this??? :( :(

Campkipawa

Haven't heard this and can't see how they can based on the following:

1. Fires have been reduced by about half in the last 2 weeks.

2. Resources have increased significantly in the same time frame (which was apparently the main reason for the restrictions in the Kipawa area previously).

3. There are no fires in the direct Kipawa area.

4. Sopfeu has even posted on facebook that the reason for the amended restrictions in the northern areas (near Val D'or) was due to the fires in that region.

5. Significant rain and reduced temps are scheduled for monday and tuesday.

Further to this, sopfeu's own site shows only one (fire 215 in the far east of the province) of the current 86 fires has been confirmed to have been caused by recreation. The rest are lightning. IMO you can only posture locking owners out of areas on the basis that they will mistakenly start fires when the data does not support the thesis.

Lizard King

Does Canada have anything upcoming similar to our 4th of July?

I could see fireworks being banned.

Campkipawa

Yes, Canada day on July.1st weekend.

For certain firework bans will be present and almost goes without question. Most people have too much to lose (cottages, lodges etc) to take unnecessary risks.

I thought the same thing, that the worst was over but I got the info from John, the camp owner.

According to Wayne at Kipawa Lodge on facebook, as of June 12 all restrictions and road blocks have been removed.
