Wow, JOW!   That's a beauty for sure, but then you have no history of cracking on the highly esteemed General Rhybak, like a well known contributor to this site has done many times!  Great fish!

You don't get these days back.  Live each day as if it were your last and one day you will be right.

Holly smokes, what a Walleye.

Jow, how was chalets Dianne? Have you stayed there before?

I love the area and loved fishing in the Zec with Johnnywalleye, the wife however would like to try Kipawa.
So I am looking hard at chalets Dianne, I just haven't seen any reports on it.

ok, where is this "Sandbar"... I've heard of it several times now here and on the kipawa area friends fb page.... my curiosity is peaked...
From Laniel, follow the main channel towards strawberry island, about half way to strawberry is a point that goes 3/4 across the lake and its sand. Google map that end and zoom in and you can't miss it

Dog, directly across from the "iles du sandy portage" there is a sandbar that sticks out 3/4 of the way across the lake. You can walk out on it, and be standing in the middle of the lake. It is a natural choke point where the fish are squeezed toward the island and it has always been a go to spot when fishing that end of the lake. There is a strong current that flows through there and around those islands. not an area to run sleds on in the winter, because water is always moving there.

The eastern side of the sandbar is pure sand and the water temp is noticeably cooler than stepping on the western side of the sandbar where there are nothing but gravel size to fist size rocks of every color. So we beach the boat on the eastern side of the sandbar and the kids love walking on it and collecting rocks, and drift wood...
