Never saw this before but I just ordered 2 of them to get the free shipping.  I'm hoping it works good for ice fishing since the eyes of the jigs are smaller but it might come in handy with larger jigs too.  Has anyone else used one?  http://tyepro.com/

@JigginFool you'll have to share how you like it and works. I love the idea of it!
If you wanna sell the other one, PM me.

My 2 are supposed to be here before the weekend, so I'll be able to try it out ice fishing Saturday!  Hopefully it works as good as they say with small jigs and 2 lb test line....

Every now and then a new gizmo comes out on the market that TRULY addresses a need and solves a problem/dilemma in the fishing world. Not like changing the color of the finish on a crank bait, or adding feathers to a spinnerbait to make it better. I mean something that changes how you fish. Here is one.

This goes back to a cabin deck conversation we had last year on Kipawa. As jig fisherman, we go through LOTS of jigs. Snap-offs are very common, and re-tying is happening several times per guy during a normal walleye session, if not per hour. The worst thing is when re-tying keeps your bait OUT of the water and the bite is fast and furious. We all agreed...the older we get our eyes don't focus so well up close or from far, and the harder it is to 'thread' the line through the small jig hole (takes me forever!), then again back through another line loop after tying the knot of choice, then tightening. A lot of false starts and try again...maddening.

So, we defined the problem, and tried to come-up with a good solution. After several hours of "What about this..."and "Maybe if we made something like this...", and probably a couple cases of Bleue, nothing was presenting itself as a viable starting point. And that was the end of that.

Yesterday, my nephew Mattie sent an email to all of us with a web link and simply stated, "You know that jig tying thing we were trying to brainstorm and invent last year? It's already invented, and I'm thinking about getting one."

I checked it out...and now have (3) of them on order. So here you go; I'm simply sharing this information as a reference...I stand to make no money off of this in any way. It's looks almost too good to be true...I can't wait to try it out.

Ah...didn't see that...was in Austin all this week. 75 and sunny there. Not so much here. Anyway...good news.

Just so I'm clear, what's the intended difference between General Discussion and Fishing Discussion? I rarely look at the other sub-forums outside of General Discussion...the reason I missed the post on this.

Kipawa Fishing Forum...aren't all posts / discussions about "fishing"?

I'll be looking for these at Toronto Sportsmans Show next weekend and compare prices. I have had a pen-like knot tier (sp?) for some time but it doesnt line up the eye and line .My eyes are not what they used to be .

Looks like a good gift for my dad.  I may be in for one. Only thing missing on it is something to punch out the eyelit.
I usually give that task to the kids back at the cabin but I always forget to do some of them.
