Who watches this show? I love it and finally got around to watching the season 7 premier on re-run last night.

of course, it was in Canada shield lakes in Ontario... here's what I learned:

1) If you want to catch lake trout all you have to do is jig with a spoon 1-2 feet off the bottom (so this is what I've been doing wrong for the past 4 years!!! (sarcasm))
2) Northern Pike learn not to bite the same lure (he was fishing for musky and was catching northern pike for 2 days straight, then nothing, they stopped biting the musky lures)
3) A jig and live bait can catch just about anything, including a 5' Musky on a light pole with 6lb test... unfreakingbelievable! Freaking Jig and minnow
4) Fishing is pure, 100% LUCK!!! (even for the people who do it for a living)
One more cast...

I too enjoy this show as much for the wild locations as for the wild fish caught .

600 miles north

It's been a couple years since I've watched it, but I always liked it. Like Mike said, the destinations are worth watching, and I never imagined half the fish they caught even existing.

600 miles north is where I'd rather be!

My answer would be exactly what Brad said:  great locations and whoever heard of some of the fish caught.
