I'm going up next weekend....save me a few fish. Were you trolling or jigging?
Days spent fishing don't count against life :)

Only got to go out fishing once, too much to do on this weekend, but I did get one walleye! Weather was great overall, lots of ppl out on the lake this past weekend. Got the camp all ready for a week's holidays starting this Saturday!

Legend

We were up on the week-end. The walleye were deep (35-40 feet) and lakers were all over the place. We had some success but nothing like we have had in past years. Friday was cool and we got out in the afternoon and evening. Picked up a couple trolling (a laker and a walleye) then switched over to jigging and caught a few walleyes. All of the walleyes were in the 15 - 17 inch range.  Saturday was very overcast as we set out to Sunnyside (from Laniel) for the day. didn't have any luck fishing deeper water for lakers but picked up an assortment of lakers, walleye, and pike trolling over 20 feet of water near the boiler. For the evening fish we settled into our normal place (20 feet) and were shut down; only catching one walleye. Called it a night a little early and headed back to Laniel. Sunday - very sunny and the water had warmed considerably (fro 44 - 53 degrees). Picked up a few lakers trolling, headed back to camp and watched the Canada Russia game and then out for the evening fish at Sandy Portage. Our boat pulled in a variety lakers, walleye and ling before heading home. Despite catching a fair number of walleye's, we only took home three due to the smaller size. Now looking forward to a second trip in August. Great time as usual with great company and great scenery. Catching a few is always a bonus. Cheers!
