@Fort Wisers is that the camp that is for sale on the classifieds? I emailed about it but never heard anything back.

Hey @Big Chief, which classifieds?
I have heard that the camp might be for sale but I'm not sure how motivated the seller is.

@Fort Wisers here is the link to the one I found:

It looks just like it. If so was just wondering how the camp was and how fishing was in that area of the lake.  I have never fished down in that area.

Nice report...seems like I was just there... :P . What a different look that wonderful place has with happy children running around versus a bunch of scruffy, beer-bloated men jumping around to keep the skeeters from carrying them off.

As for whether that cabin is for sale or not, I offer this. It was once for sale a few years back (maybe 4-5) and I did ask the owner if he ever thought about selling it again. Without going into the detail of it all, I'd say any cabin on that lake is for sale at the right price. Whether it's listed or not really doesn't matter. If you're serious about getting a cabin there, you can find one.

Ah...I miss it. But, we're planning something special next year...and something a little different. I can hardly wait...

That's it, though I think that ad is old, but maybe not. There's stuff you can find on the internet that hasn't been relevant for 5+ years.

Fishing was good for us when we were there in early-June...I can say that.

@T-Bone, you're correct about real estate on Kipawa....it's a different market then is typical.
Interested to hear what you have planned for next year!

Looking like a quickie with only a couple guys up to Kipawa next year...very early (like May), then an 8-day fly-in north of the Chapleau area in Ontario on a relatively small lake in early-August for walleye and big northerns.

I'm still going to try and squeeze in a trip up to Pigeon Lake outside of Bobcaygeon, Ontario in very-early fall this year. We'll see...

I'd like to turn that September trip this year into a Kipawa trip, but it would be tough.

Greg

great report - thx for reminding me of all the times I took my kids at that age to Kipawa.

How were the bugs?  I've heard they are intense this year - are they lightening up?

6 more sleeps and off to Alwaki!!!

Great report and pictures.  Always good to see young ones outdoors.  Thanks for sharing.

@Greg
Bugs weren't too bad but I think they've died off a fair bit since the peak.
First night we were there was definitely the worse and they progressively got better each day.
Have fun at Alwaki!

Thanks for the bug report too.
I'm there in almost 2 long weeks.
