We are coming to taggart bay in june. Mid month. We will be targeting smallmouth and walleye. Ive been to quebec fifteen times and had good success everywhere except the Baskatong Reservoir. My plan for walleye is typical. 1/4-3/8 oz jigheads with twister tails, leeches, and worms. I am also a big fan of slow trolling lindy rigs with floating jigheads. I know the smallmouth have been increasing in that section of the lake but how many ate there really?  Do people targeting them have a lot of success?  For bass I planned to throw topwater lures, spinnerbaits, and crankbaits focusing on perch colors.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated as I know this can be a tough lake for some. We will have some cheap depth finders and will have trolling motors as well.

We also plan to hit some of the portage lakes for bass and pike. Thanks for any info.

Hi Etter1, welcome to the board. I would bring eight oz. jigs too. We do best with them. There are plenty of bass. We don't target them and get some big ones each year. We've never been there in June, but we do well in July. If you have questions about the camp PM me and I'll be glad to help.

I wouldn't go with moving baits as much, they will smack them but I prefer tubes or drop shot for smallmouth, also a jerkbait would do very well, make it swim like an injured minnow and you'll catch.
Jig head and grub can't go wrong with for bass too.

Not sure what the regs are for bass on Kipawa in mid June? I know in Ontario bass season is not til last Sat in June. You should check before you target them if it's out of season.
