And I thought I pack to much!! I leave most stuff on island and just bring clothes and beer. Firewood and food. I'm in a different scenario as I'll get up a few times a year.
But your right, I pack lots of clothes and take 80% back clean.

Why do you bring firewood? Can you not salvage deadfalls on the island?

He has probably been using that spot for years and has cleared it all out.

And McSteve...I can guarantee you...the portage of stuff from dock to cabin and back again IS the only exercise I get all week. Other than 12-ounce curls...and the reeling of those pesky 'eyes from the water to my boat.  ;D

BAHAHAHA, thanks for the laughs!

Just went through all the #$@/ tackle.
Sorting out what I use here for warm water fish, what I use around kip for cold water fish.
Then I said this is to much strain on the brain.
I'm taking a small bag of tackle, my wife's purse is several times it's size. One of those small boxes of lures, one of jigs, one of other 'assorted stuff'.  That is all.
Ok, the pockets on the sides will have slip bobbers/floats (depending g on your name for them), splitshot, small thing of bug repellent.
A carryout lunch bag from McDonald's is bigger.

I don't need much extra exercise; after all, I wouldnt want to over excert myself.

RHYBAK

I hear you.
You bring all the "JUST IN CASE" tackle and it never sees daylight.

Floats
hooks
splitshot
leader material
worm harnesses
jig heads

a couple of Hot-n-Tots

thats it

No good wood on island, all softwood which is mostly pine.
Lots of wood at other property we split and bring up. 8 foot box truck so lots of room.

that's too bad. I have a ton of maple and yellow birch dead fall on my island.
