I have a '96 135 merc 2-cycle outboard, and normally when you turn the key to run, the engine warning buzzer gives 2 chirps to let you know it's working, but this year no sound.

I found the buzzer, about the size of a quarter, about an inch thick, and it has power to it when the key is on,but no chirp, is this just a bad buzzer?

I only have till 6-11 to fix it.......anyone had a similar issue?

Thanks, Maven

See if you can locate the temperature sensor or oil sensor and mimic one of these detecting something that would normally make the alarm system upset (disconnect one of these sensors for a second or two while running).
If you still get no buzzer then either what ever drives it or the buzzer itself is likely bad.
