Hi Guys

We fish in an area (Grassy Lake) that is surrounded by ZEC Kipawa â€" our group likes to explore â€" could we boat into another lake (Lac des Loups) which is in the ZEC and tour around it (no fishing) â€" just cruising.

Is it illegal to even enter the lake without a ZEC license?

Any info is appreciated

I suspect you would require a permit because you would be using part of their territory. However, a quick telephone call to ZEC Kipawa at 819-726-2266 could clarify.

I did a quick search and it looks like it is $30 for a day of fishing, $55 for two days and up from there...compared to around $50 for the week in non-ZEC water that might seem a bit high (maybe not).  I couldn't find anything that prohibits "exploring" but it wouldn't surprise me if there is some fee to boat in ZEC territory.  Best bet as @Jay Thomas suggested is to call.

Yes you will need a pass from Zec.

I'm most familiar with Restigo, which for your request would require registration but no fees as far as I know. Maganisipi requires "road fees" even if just exploring. Kipawa, I'm not sure. As others have said try calling the office or maybe even email now that the season is getting close.  One thing for sure,  egged not have any fishing equipment on board without a license.
