hey guys. I thought I'd start a new thread. The gist if it is simply. What did I get today? For those with internet access while at camp just post(brag or complain) about your days fishing. that simple. For instance,I got 20 wallies today. Most below the slot size but several keepers and one over 4 pounds. Post whatever you like. Lets have fun with this. Getting skunked is part of the fun. So is catching a ton as well as a lunker. post away. Ego is good here.

We have no internet access in camp  :(...but I consider that a good thing!  I can't wait to read all the bragging on this thread though.  I'll add mine when we return!  Only 32 days until we leave!!!

My brother just arrived from his teaching job in the Northwest Territories. He and I and my FiL went in to camp on Hunter Lake on Friday morning. Fished 2 hours Fri evening. Must have caught 50+. Only 6 were in the slot.
Saturday evening fished another 2 hours and hard pressed to pull in 5. One in the slot. Front moved in and shut her down.

The sauna foundation is in. The actual build starts Wednesday. Nothing like a sauna to get that squitter poison outta the body.

it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid.

Excuse me if I'm wrong; but isn't pickerel and walleye two names for the same fish?
So they had better taste the same!
;D

WHO CARES
IT STILL TASTE THE SAME ;D

Yeah...gross. Yuck.

And technically Sgt. Crabby...no...they are completely different species. Once from pike family, one from perch family. Historically, those north of the border refer to them as pickerel (since as long as I recall back into early-70s) and those of us south of the border refer to them as walleye. The fish we're targeting in the Kipawa area are walleye.

Actually, I was thinking where both names are of the perch family.
Oh well, me be wrong again.

Hahah if you get caught with too many pickerel the fine in Ontario reads "walleye" on the ticket. Lol not speaking from exp. heard from a guy once haha

I managed a 41" Northern.  Probably around 18-20lbs.  Still dont know how to post pics on here though.  Caught it last Friday while trolling for Lakers

Got to spend long weekend on the island, just my dog and myself. Built a kitchen island to surprise the gang on next trip up.
Walleye were on fire, wherever I fished 20 to 28 feet I caught. About every 7th was keepers and brought a few home. I'd average about 30 walleye in two hour outings.

Anyone heading up this month should be delighted with the amount of walleye biting.
