I am working on an outfitters page and with a list of the outfitters linking back to their websites. If you have a few minutes, could you look over this list and see if it is complete. Or have someone listed twice under two different names. Thanks in advance.

Beauchene Fishing Lodge
Bush Country Camp
Camp Kipawa Cabin Rentals
Camp La Lucarne
Club Trout Lake
Kipawa Outpost
Miller’s Camp McKenzie
Lake Ogascanan Lodge
Chalets Diane
Taggart Bay Lodge
Smith Bay Outfitters
3 Seasons Camp
Chalets du Huard
Landriault Outfitters
Chalet Fin du Lac
Camp de La lucerne
Kipawa lodge
Minapanoe lodge
lake sasseginaga outpost
Two Moon Outpost Lodge
Cedar Valley Lodge is not on your list.
looks good to me. On a side note, in the master trip report index all the outfitters listed are hot linked there as well...
Thanks, Cmdr. Bluegill, that's what I was looking for. Dog, yes, thanks, I was using that for a reference, but there was on there I couldn't see. Probably has something to do with old age and 1 AM not working well together. :) I kept hitting CLTR "+", but it just wasn't working for me last night. The joys of getting older. just wait another 20 years, Dog. ;)
Hi:
I assume Minapaneo Lodge (as I couldn't find a website) refers to Miwapanee Lodge, if not, Miwapanee Lodge should be listed.
Thanks, Ray.
Thanks, I knew that didn't look right, and appreciate your help with that. The Outfitters link page is now up.
8) NP - I've been going there for 20 years and have to look it up to spell it :)
Ok, just to clear up any misunderstanding that there might be, the outfitters link page is located at the top two icons to the right of the "Home" icon at the top. The outfitters in this thread is not linkable as I was only searching for information.
Nancy, I'd like to make a suggestion... how about copying SgtCrabby's map into your outfitter link on the top menu instead of that gorgeous scenery shot. It seems like the perfect place to post the map so people can get the spacial orientation of where all the outfitters are located that you listed with respect to one another. Just an idea...
Dog,
Great idea. Will try to get it taken care of later today. Thanks.
Here are a few other outfitters in the Kipawa area:
Camp Coucoushee on Lake Kikwissi - see http://www.duckswild.com/coucoushee/
Pourvoirie Domaine des Quinze on Lac des Quinze - see http://www.pourvoiriedomainedesquinze.com/address.html
Camp Denis on Reservoir Decelles - see http://www.campdenis.com/maps.html
Dumoine Lake Cottages - see http://www.kipawaoutfitters.com/
Ten Mile Lodge on Ten Mile Lake and Dumoine Lake - see http://www.tenmilelodge.com/
Pourvoirie Pommeroy on Lake Pommeroy - see http://www.pourvoiries.com/en/outfitter/pourvoirie-pommeroy-inc-08-697/
I can assist SgtCrabby re locations if required.
Jay
Jay,
I was hoping you would help with a complete list. That is very much appreciated. I will get those outfitters on a bit later today, and will send SgtCrabby a message about your offer to assist with the placing these additional outfitters on the map. Once the map is complete, I will add it to this page.
I will see what I can do to add these, although some may be outside of the area shown (off the paper).
SgtCrabby:
I'm unaware of why our map does not show lakes like Pommeroy (just west of Sasseginaga) or Kikwissi (just south of Sasseginaga) that are well within the current borders of the map. On the other hand, Lac à la Truite, Lac Dumoine, Lac des Quinze and the Decelles reservoir are all outside the current borders of our map and perhaps can not be included.

Jay... it doesn't show them because the map is custom made for your awareness. Each body of water takes a lot of effort (data to interpret, analyse, compile and transfer) so Sgt Crabby rightfully focused on the most well travelled outfitters and bodies of water first (the ones that have trip reports posted about them....). I'm sure if you're a bit patient, Sgtcrabby may get to your requests that fall within the current map borders if he has time... -Nate
A question on maps...does anybody have a map that illustrates detailed borders of the zecs? Which lakes are in and out of the various zecs? And for that matter why we have so many zecs and why can't I just get one pass to visit any lake I choose. I never liked the ideas of a zec zone anyway.
I'm not sure what SgtCrabby's map looks like, but one option would be to create a map something like the one in the link below.
http://www.bushcountrycamp.com/bushcountrycamp/Fishing_files/BushCountryCamp.jpg (http://www.bushcountrycamp.com/bushcountrycamp/Fishing_files/BushCountryCamp.jpg)
My background is in GIS (Geographic Information Systems). All of the data in this map is available free of charge from the federal government and is based on the National Topographic Database at the 1:50000 scale, UTM projection. You just need to have the correct software to work with it. With a bit of effort, the I could probably get the ZEC Boundaries.
If there is interest and value to the outfitters, I might be able to put something together.
Another option would be to create a small site using the Google Maps API, but this is a bit more involved and might be beyond the scope of this forum.
Cheers,
Kirk

kirk, looks like this: http://kipawafishingforum.net/index.php?topic=17.0 - nate
Thanks. The source data looks like NTDB on that map as well.
Kirk
On the StgCrabby map, Bush Country Camp is on the wrong island if there is an opportunity to correct it.
Thanks!
Kirk
Kirk, that's an easy enough fix, just let sgtcrabby know exactly where it is... and in the next revision I'm sure he'll correct it. neither of us have ever been there so thank you for the correction.

Cool. Thanks. The correct location is on the map in the link I posted a bit earlier.

Hi Nate:
Thanks very much for the explanation of how much effort is involved in the makeup of this map. Kudos to SgtCrabby!

Hi Joe:
Before the establishment of Zones d'Exploitation Controlee (ZECs) in Quebec in 1978, much of the land now within ZEC borders belonged to private fishing/hunting clubs (translated - that meant no access for any of us). You can read some background info on ZECs at http://perc.org/blog/what-world-zec
As for maps that illustrate the detailed borders of ZECs, one can always contact any ZEC of interest and order the map of their territory (nominal fee of $10 approximately). I have the maps for ZEC Kipawa and for ZEC Dumoine. A less detailed illustration of the borders of ZECs is available at http://www.reseauzec.com/carte Click on any ZEC on the map to get an exploded map view.
Jay
TY Jay. I don't remember zec's when I used to come uo 30 yrs ago. A bit of a history lesson. I couldn't figure out why they existed. gonna look into them more. I see millions of back lakes I'd like to explore I'd like to look for some brookies in streams and small lakes.
If you find Brookie lakes, PM ME.
Haven't had time to ask them, but do you think the Qc "MNR" have a list of lakes in the area with the species found in them like Ontario?
I'm sure they do. I know the zecs have lists and some maps in their territories. I spoke to the ranger in the trailer at Maniwaki last year. She said most lakes are listed as per species, many have launches. I'll ask some natives I know for advise on trout streams and lakes. I'm going up this weekend.
I will probably join zec restgo, It's right near my neck of the woods.
