Gid'day all,

The construction team are laying down crushed stone on red pine road today. Maniwaki Road is in great shape, after grading over the past few weeks.

Cheers !

That is great news. Red Pine was a little rough in July.
Thanks !

if you go past 33 mile marker look to the left.  They have been in there crushing gravel for the last couple weeks and taking it up to red pine.

I was on the road yesterday. It's already almost as good as Maniwaki. Smooth and fast. It's cut the time going down that road in half. speeds are now about 40 mph/ 70kph. The stone crusher had a huge pile of stone ready to spread. I wonder if I can buy a load for my driveway. It's getting rough and lumpy.

I traveled the Red Pine Road on Thursday 16 Aug  - impressive improvement. However, I was wondering why is all that money being spent on the road. Puckster, are you aware of any future development for the area that could justify the expenditure? Thanks.

The mining issue is still up in the air. However my understanding is that it's the shortest route joining Maniwaki to the Bearne rd. They want to use the road to transport logs from the N.E. down red pine and out thru Maniwaki. The fact that it helps the cottagers in the area is only incidental IMO.

I'm sure Leonard could arrange it.

I just made it to camp in record time. Instead of 20 to 30kph. I'm now doing 70 to 80. I passed a couple of big dump trucks going the other way and with plenty of room if both kept to their side of the road. huge improvement, It's almost cutting my time down that road in half. Lovin' it!!

I just got to camp, quick road report. Maniwaki is good all the way to Red Pine Rd. I was doing 80k all the way in. Red Pine Rd. Is finished, no more equipment on the road. They shaved almost 2km off the trip to the bridge. It was 10km to Maniwaki. It feels like riding a roller coaster with lots bends and hills. I was averaging about 70kph all the way. It's half the time it was before.

PG I was hoping you might give a late season update on the road. Any chance you might get a picture of that new road.  Not sure I will miss the old twisty tight mess that was the old road.   Thanks again !

Took a drive out to the road yesterday for a walk and a look around...
