Beer is good! Having said that it is definitely a personal thing as to what is good.  I discovered the wonder of great beer many years ago and have traveled to experience it in some of its birth places.

The majority of all beer consumed in North America, until recently are all the same basic style “a light lager”. They most all are made extremely well for what they are, a light lager. They are the white bread of the beer world. I love white bread, but what about Rye, Pumpernickel, Italian, wheat and so on? Expanding your beer horizon can be very rewarding once you discover there is more than white bread. My favorite style of beer is a German made Hefeweizen.

While at Kipawa my go to beer during the day is a lower alcohol beer like Blue Moon. Once in for the night I love Quebec’s World Class beers made by a brewer named, Unibroue. I was shocked to find  Unibroue’s beer in the IGA and their beer named La Fin du Monde is my personal favorites.

Tbone, swing by cabin 10 this July for a cold La Fin, but warning.... it’s a two for one beer at 9% abv .

We enjoy Unibroue's craft beer also. A few times a year we buy their variety pack.

Rhybak, you sound like my son (who takes after his father)!.  Not sure if his first beer was at Lake Kipawa, but he had his first in a such a majestic location at Lake Kipawa.  Cold and free!

I just wanted to say it is funny there are more posts to this beer thread than most fishing threads... 

Cold Beer = Successful Fishing Trip!



We get our last minute perishables from IGA and usually a case of beer and a few bottles of wine along with some fruit.  We got individually wrapped steaks this time instead of larger value pack from Walmart.  It said 100% Canadian beef (excellent marbling) or something like that and they were about $35 Canadian for 3.  They were very good quality and I will add were perfect seasoned and cooked over an open fire!

I am not so picky when it comes to beer as they are all not my favorite tasting beverages so Molson is fine.  I have no idea what it cost as we are only making one stop for everything so the price is what it is.  I just like the fact that it is an ice cold beverage.

I did take a picture of the one display case cause I was a surprised that it looks like Rolling Rock was popular that day.  It was or is made a few miles away from where we used to live so it was more of a look what is here email to family picture.  You can see the prices on a bunch of things though for reference.
