Hello all, I'm new to this site, been lurking off and on for some years now, staying at Kipawa Lodge the last week in June and was wondering if anyone from this forum is going to be there that week?

Hey Doug - welcome!

I'm not on the lake until mid-July.

You will find lots of help and suggestions!!

Is this your first visit to the lake?

I stayed in the cabin on the point many years ago.. great view down Edwards Narrows and away from the rest of the camp hustle and bustle a little (not that there was actually any noise that I recall).  Very nice owners.  I think that you will enjoy yourself.  Many good fishing areas near by the camp also.  We had the dinner plan added on and were on our own for breakfast and lunch.  The home cooked meals with bread, fish, chicken, steak and a few other entrees I can not recall at the moment along with homemade dessert was awesome and changed daily as well as there is a very nice dining area with view out over the water to relax.  It added a very nice touch that the wives (who are not as excited about a fishing trip) very much appreciated which of course makes for a much better trip and the possibility of a return trip.  If your going with the guys well then that is a different story all together.  They also have a nice little store that you can get a little better than the basics and even a sweet treat!  I know Wayne (the owner) is on this forum also and he will point you in the right direction when your there if you still have any questions by the time you get to camp.  Good luck on your trip and let us know how things at the camp and on the water go!  I have family that will be up at Kipawa Lodge for a week or so in August and I am trying to see if I can possibly be an add on to their trip but I can not get it to work out with my work schedule yet.

Thanks guys,  this will be my 14th trip staying with Wayne and Barb, very nice people, Wayne always says to fish off the front dock and catch em, never really tried it though, we always bring our own food, so iv'e never had one of Barbs meals, but I always hear about how good of a cook she is.  My friends grandfather started fishing there when he had to take a train in, and his family has been going ever since.  Last spring was my first time back since 2009, when they still ran the generators, I can't believe I let myself go so long without visiting the area, beautiful place, I'm very excited to get back up there again.  we normally go the last week of June, but last year we were there the second week and I couldn't believe how good the fishing was, one evening with 3 guys fishing, we caught 51 fish in an hour, most were under the slot, but still lots of fun.  Looking forward to fishing N. River this year, we couldn't last year because of the June 15th rule.  I will definitely give a fishing report when I get back home.

Doug.
