I am glad for this new board. I am not able to register for the kipawa.net board. Can anyone help me? I've sent emails and tried on different systems and times to register but no luck. Help please.

I have the same problem with the other site.  I've tried to register a few times but no luck.  Any help would be appreciated.  That being said, I look forward to the new site.

I agree. I've tried to register on the other one a bunch of times with no luck.

I was (am) a Moderator on the other board and have been very disappointed by the lack of attention from the webmaster to issues like this.  That e-mail hacker really screwed up the Personal Messaging and he never got that fixed, either.  I think his career has taken off and he just doesn't have time to maintain that forum anymore.  He is a Kipawa enthusiast and I feel certain this is not because he does not care about Kipawa or the users.  Maybe some good old fashioned competition is what he needs to get busy upgrading that forum.  If not, we now have this one, too ...

Cmdr. Bluegill,

Thanks so much for posting what you know about what has gone on with the other forum. As John and I have talked and T-Bone has said we would have really preferred staying with the other forum and there is so much history there, but it has been quite frustrating lately. If he would have given more power to you mods, that would have resolved many problems. I am sure he is a good guy (anyone who likes Kip can't be all bad :)). It just appears that he has too many irons in the fire. But thanks for your insight.

add my name to the list of those who were unable to join kipawa.net. but i did read the majority of the posts to educate myself about what must be a beautiful place--- we are booked at taggart bay lodge for the first week of july 2014--our first visit to that area. we are 4 fathers w/ young adult sons who usually go for smallmouth. we are not experienced @ walleye fishing but are excited to try. (coming from the great state of new jersey!) good luck on the new forum site.

I'll say ditto to all the previous posts...glad that I found this board!

I had some e-mail correspondence with the webmaster of the Kipawa.net site recently.  As I speculated, he has responsibilities which now prevent him from spending the time maintaining that board in the manner we had become accustomed to.   If you had trouble signing on to that board, you could try again and make sure you specifically mention the word "Kipawa" in the field "Describe your interest in this site" and "Interests:" on the registration page.  I think this requirement was added in an effort to keep the spammers at bay.  We had an awful time in late 2011 and early in 2012 with e-mail spammers on that board and they did significant damage to the PM feature which the webmaster did not have the time to repair.  The PM feature eventually stopped working and users then lost a tool which was valuable to them.

If you were not able to register on Kipawa.net you should consider trying again because all of the history is still over there and discussions continue on that board.  Kipawa.net has been on the web for 20 years and we have enjoyed that site for a long, long time.  The webmaster also allowed us to moderate ourselves which worked out pretty well MOST of the time  ::).  I think we should be grateful the webmaster of that site kept it going for 20 years and we should be disappointed that he cannot continue to maintain it in the manner we had come to enjoy.  You never know, maybe he will find a way to get that site back on track and then we'll have two sites!

Great job, Nancy!  ...and we should say the same for the webmaster who gave us the Kipawa.net site as well.  As my grandkids say - it's all good!

Cmdr. Bluegill. I did what you said and it went through.. I did that 3 days ago and havent gotten my confirmation email.. Unfortunate, but glad for this board!

Cmdr. Bluegill

SnodT2120, I don't know how these BB systems work but it may be the PM which crashed is the source for all outgoing communication and you may not get a message from the system confirming your registration.  I know the member list on Kipawa.net has not shown any new members added after about November 2013.  It was a great place to hang our for a long time, but ....

Cmdr,  I keep trying to log in as MrsPikie and it does not work.  I have signed up again using your instructions as John Clark and that doesn't work either.
