I'm also in Ottawa area. Why we are not getting that much vaccine is because the little guy at the bottom of the ladder forgot to tell the Big Guy at the TOP of the ladder that we would require this much vaccine. By the time they got the Big Boy at the Top to place an order we were down about 37th in the world to get the vaccine. We don't have a vaccine producing place in Canada because our Big Boy at the TOP , when his Daddy was PM, got rid of the major pharmaceutical plants in Canada. I think Canada will be lucky to have everybody vaccinated by June 2022and more likely September.

Supply...demand...and scaled allocation. It's really that simple. Not sure it's political or anyone screwed up...that's possible I suppose. Probably has something to do with money in the end...that's a good bet.

Our 60-year and older vaccination stage starts Thursday. I'm in the next group...which at this pace will be about 3-weeks or maybe a bit longer...but who knows...the whole thing is so fluid.

Seems like our big guy at the top back when this started got things going and your big guy didn't. Now our new big guy is taking credit for it. Politics suck! Who cares who did it, just get it out and stop the pissing contest. I really hope yours can get things going for you all. This virus is scary. Stay safe and well.

They just put out a notice not to use the AstraZeneca "vaccine" on seniors. Personally I don't trust any of them, specially the mRna ones that actually don't fall under the definition of what and how a vaccine works. No way anyone is going to modify my genes. https://lbry.tv/@SixthSense-Truth-Search-Labs:0/Dr-Andrew-Wakefield-Warns---This-Is-Not-A-Vaccine!:b?fbclid=IwAR

State of emergency rule.

U.S. first.
Vaccines produced in the U.S. were to stay in the U.S. and treat Americans first.
At least that is what I read.
It was the new presidents order .

I could be wrong

I'm going to avoid any vaccine that was rushed through. I don't trust what any government or pharmaceutical company says.
What doesn't kill you will make you stronger!

I don't believe I'm in the vulnerable group. To me it's just a stronger strain of flu. How many times do you hear every winter...Oh I got my flu shot
but got the flu anyway...?? Then the Health industry releases their opinion that they focused on the wrong strain??

We're seeing different strains of Covid now (South African variant, UK variant etc...)....this doesn't give me any confidence in their vaccine. I'll pass.

This morning our local radio station says that Canada has around 3 million vaccines that are about to expire if not used.  Big hurry to get the quantity of doses and a terrible plan to distribute.

fishtildark

Ozzy, sounds like you are describing Pennsylvania. took way too long to get their act together but its getting better. If there are that many doses ready to expire they should have  people on street corners pushing shots. thats over a third of the population of Quebec. Neither the states or Canada should let medical people distribute the vaccine. Get people who have skills  like trucking company dispatchers or military supply sergeants to handle distribution and medical people handle the needles.
my rant for the day.
So many lures and so little time.

RHYBAK

So?????
Here is another thought to ponder.

All of the U.S. citizens have been vaccinated  BUT and a big BUTTTT. Canadian citizens have yet to be vaccinated.

Should U.S. citizens still be allowed to cross the border ?

fishtildark

If the vaccine works US citizens should pose no threat....however, I saw a number that said 60 percent here dont know it they are going to get it....If things dont open up for vaccinated people less incentive for people to get it. potential border crossing was one thing that encouraged me to get it as soon as eligible and available...
So many lures and so little time.

Time will tell.

Who knows what is in the head of our Political leaders that make those decisions

Promises of money...tons of it...for those on both sides of the argument...

You can make book on that.

I am not a DR and thank god, not a politician, but things are looking brighter by the day here in NW Pa. case numbers are staying low, deaths are reducing and vaccinations are going way up and the weather is still awful.

The Hodge predicts he will be fishing at Kipawa in July 8) ....... Maybe  ;D
