JohnPK, we are also going to Alwaki next weekend from Ontario. We usually go up for the opening weekend. Have you been up at this time in June before? Do you know what depth of water we should be fishing at with this warm weather?
I sent you a pm nfc but in case you didn't see it, we generally find the walleye in about 18 feet...give or take 5 feet, sometimes they are in very shallow in the morning or evening also. If I mark fish, we anchor and catch fish, if I don't mark fish in our "go to spots" I move around the area until I mark or move to another location.

That is a ray of hope. I'm keeping positive thoughts. Thanks for posting that, T-Bone.

"...changes could include a relaxation of quarantine rules as well as special permission to enter Canada for visitors or residents with proof of two vaccinations.

Tam said factors such as case rates, hospital capacity and vaccination percentages in Canada (which are rising quickly) will need to be considered".

Manitoba is mess. Ontario is doing great, relatively speaking. Most of the new cases are in the greater Toronto area where they are doing extra vaccinations. It's just going to be a never ending stream of good news this summer and I'm not negative on the winter either as we are buying booster shots for the winter.

It sounds like the Canadian gov is considering the vaccine passports. If you haven't got yours remember that you need to wait a month for the second one for it to be most effective.

Just talked to him...he's on board. I told him no later than June 15th to start....5-6-weeks from start to "fully" vaccinated. Mine was 5-weeks as I had 3-weeks between my first two shots. Some are 4-weeks apart.

Great news regarding border opening hopefully sooner than later. Just hoping border to Quebec opens before June 5th or our group is screwed ! I got my first Pfizer on April 23 and they booked me on the spot for my second...AUG. 23 !! Sure hoping that might be moved up !

chiaro

1033 new cases in Ontario, the lowest since Feb. 24th.

R Value 0.77.  BELOW 0.8!

PLan B was to rebook for July 10....we have never fished around that time so any advice as to depth would be appreciated. In early June we find the eyes mostly in 5-25 fow....hopefully they won't be much deeper than that come July.

Ozzy30

No water temp. won't fluctuate that much.  We always have a week at Alwaki start of July and are in the 20ish ftw.

RHYBAK

I think most of July and August would be 10-25 FOW

It's not till the lake turns in September that you get 25-35FOW

My opinion

I agree, end of July my wife and I go up for our anniversary and fish the same.

JohnPK

Thanks for the replies everyone. So looks like our go to spots will work, just maybe a bit deeper than we usually fish in early June.

Awww guys,  my heart bleeds for you, pop a few more tops, clean-up a little longer, it's all in the Kipawa tradition.
