Seven day rolling average is now 844.  It was 4326 on April 22nd.

Premier has hinted at starting Phase 1 earlier then June 14th. I would be shocked if we don't go into phase 1 by the 14th. Phase 2 should happen 21 days later, if not earlier. Canadians are still very eager for vaccines and there is no reason that numbers shouldn't continue to fall even with the variants. In the states #s continue to fall even with packed stadiums and slowed vaccination rates. Probably the Premier is being over cautious and that should become obvious after we are in Phase 1 and #'s still fall.

...and we are out of the stay at home order 3 days early into phase 1. Phase 1 starts friday. We blew past the criteria to open a while ago. This means we will get to phase 2 earlier then expected near the end of June. Again we may shrink the 21 days between phases if we meet the criteria early.

296 cases yesterday! Amazing and one of the top countries in the world for 1st vaccine rates!

However, only a little over 14% of the population has been fully vaccinated (56th by country ranking).

Consequently, I don't support patting ourselves on the back for being near the top of the list for first doses. Indeed, the only way that was accomplished was to delay second doses to residents by 16 weeks (only country in the world to do so).

Proof is in the pudding and the pudding is lookin good! Compare us to say England, that 1st dose to all is looking smarter by the day.

Thanks Chazz.  That very same program may not be rolled over to us “non-essentials” in the future, but gives possible ideas.

Such as ArriveCAN.  I have no clue what that’s about.  But in coming evenings or weekends and have some time to kill, I’ll probably navigate thru it to an extent.  Just to be familiar.

We are entering stage 2 two days early. There is an outbreak in Waterloo of the delta variant. Ironically they got less vaccines. Ontario has already met it's targets for vaccination for stage 3. Someone on this board said it couldn't be done. DONE! Really they want to wait a few weeks and see if indoor dining and shopping makes a difference. The worry is the delta variant. Likely not an issue for the partially vaccinated.

The border is the last hurdle. Things are looking very promising.

I wouldn't worry about indoor dining, if there is not an outbreak in Montreal this weekend and early next week from the amount of people outside the bell center last night I would be surprised.

Below 200 cases
77% have dose #1,
40 % dose #2
3rd wave has plummeted. So far activity and delta variant in stage 1 had no impact whatsoever.

They are going to go to stage 3 ahead of time and the last hurdle is the border.

All systems go. Ontario is approaching 80% with first vaccination and + 50% with a double jabs. Stage 3 starts tomorrow. No uptick in cases during stage 2. The goal of the end of stages is 70/80 in 21 days and that looks doable. Canada is now approaching countries with the highest vaccination rates. Hesitancy isn't so much an issue as in the US or UK.

Tourist operators are demanding an opening. It's what we saw prior to stage 2 where businesses wanted limited indoor shopping and then later got it. Meanwhile in the states cases are rising again. The solution has to be a vaccine passport of some sorts. A time is coming soon where all Canadians will have had the opportunity for 2 jabs.
