Thread for factual U.S./Canada border intel

Looks like there’s 2 topic threads that are down the path of vaccine data breakdowns and conjecture.  That is fine.
I wanted to start this thread and for it to be kept to actual facts pertaining to the opening of U.S./Canada border that come from the two governments…..not vaccination rate info.

So going forward, please share here any links/info you may see on topics such as:
-Extension of June 21st closure and what new closure date is.
-“Verified” opening date(s) and how they may be phased in.
-How vaccination verification is going to be applied.
-Is coming back into the states going to be done in exact same manner as entering Canada?  With govt involved….that’s not a sure thing.
-etc….you get the point.

There’s a cutoff point where Americans won’t be able to make a trip to Kipawa in ‘21.  Without seeing actual govt declarations, it’s hard to be optimistic….or pessimistic for that matter.

Hmmm…I don’t know if I can explain that any better than above.

-Say border closure is moved from 6/21 to 7/21…that’d be a fact.
-“If” Trudeau states that on 8/3 for example, the border is open to those fully vaccinated…that’d be a fact.
-Biden’s statement on matter listed above for us also getting back across…would be a fact.
If/when we get that far, then the current sketchy in details but very important facts are needed.
-how do we acquire and show proof of vaccination?

We know getting a passport isn’t as easy as going to the BMV for a new license and/or tags.
Where does getting proof of vaccination fall in line far as simplicity?  We have no clue at the moment.  Just handing them our signed vaccine cards at the border isn’t going to work….lol

It will be fact when we cross the border on our way to Alwaki. Until then it’s conjecture… which is a just a whisper above wishful thinking.

Public Safety Minister Bill Blair says the American and Canadian governments are extending restrictions on non-essential international travel until July 21.  Canadian Press article I just read on line.

Fully vaccinated travelers allowed across the border by mid August? I heard it on the radio "NPR" coming into work and then googled it with same info.
