Our trip is a month away and things might change. I know what we need to do to get into Canada, but haven't found what we need to get back home. Do we need a covid test? If so, what kind? Will a rapid test do? Do we an appointment in Canada, and anything else we need to know. Thanks. Still hoping for the best!

Oarin,

Here’s the path I took for intel as I cross in Buffalo:
-punched “Peace Bridge contact” into Google.
-found a number for U.S. border and customs protection after opening a page.
-called it and listened to a lengthy automated system.
-finally heard a # to speak with actual patrol agent.  (716) 843-8521.
-1st call, no answer.
-2nd call an hour later, a lady answered.
-she replied (and I had her repeat her answer), Americans will not be denied entry back into the U.S.  I didn’t ask any other questions and she didn’t offer any restrictions whatsoever.

If you cross the Peace Bridge, I’d highly advise making the same call.  For your own piece of mind.
If you cross another bridge, just punch it into Google and look for phone #(s) pertaining to US border/customs for that particular bridge.

Hope this helps.

Note…I’d also make the same call closer to your trip unless clear cut declarations are literally spelled out by the US Govt.
The situation could be fluid before/after Aug. 9th comes to pass.
