As the season progresses, can someone that is on the lake or in the area keep us updated on the snow and ice condition.  I'm in Huntsville and we don't have enough snow to sled unless you don't mind the damage and the big lakes are still wide open.  The smaller lakes have been frozen over for a while but I definitely wouldn't trust them if you weren't familiar.  Be wise, be safe. Have a great New Years.

I'm going to camp for a week probably tomorrow. I just had my driveway plowed he said there was about 8 inches on the ground. It's been consistently cold there so I imagine the lake is frozen but not too thick yet. I'll let you guys know when I get there.

The Lake in front of me is frozen over I have no idwa of how thick the ice is. I'll be here for about a week enjoying the peace and quiet.

Hope you had a great week Joe!
We got back from camp last night (Mattawan), same there, between 6-12" of snow (windblown variable depth).

Lot's of trees down due to the last windstorm, but the only thing damaged was our clothes line so no big deal.
We got all our personal trails around camp opened and packed with the snow machine and also started putting in the powerline trail (feeds OFSC trails).
Enough snow to get around on the machine but the ride is rough, we need more snow before the trails are decent for the season.........

Our little pond had 5" of ice.
Cheers:

I am looking out on Green Lake here in Kipawa and the ice has frozen completely over for the first time this winter.

First complete ice cover here Jan 3, 2022

It was almost frozen over last week but then winds blew it open again the past few days.

First complete ice cover this year here -25 this am.

So ice heading out from Kipawa public ramp will be a while yet before it’s safe, maybe a solid 1-2” here out on main part of Green .

Snow is still only 3-4” on the ground again there was more but almost all melted mid December.

Buddy of mine went to his camp on Hunter's Lake this past weekend. Said the ice in the middle was 2 inches.

Give it some more time.

I ageee LC lots of brown slushy ice in front of my place. Keep theose sleds off the water. Zero sled traffic on the ice bit plenty on the roads...

Made it to camp in Windy Road Trail.  Was just enough snow.  Could have used another 4-6" to be a bit smoother.  On the way in on Wed. Dec. 29, 2021 there was slush on the little beaver ponds.  In front of the camp at the end of the dock only 2-3" of crappy white ice.  Out 100yds maybe 4-6"  Got around to look at the big part of the Lake "Green Lake from the beach on the east side looking back into Kipawa on Jan. 01, 2022 there was ice out about the 200yd mark and from there open all the way across.  That's over 2 days ago and it is getting to be some cold weather coming... but not a pile of snow so maybe we'll get some good ice first!! Be smart, be safe.
