I just tried to log on to kipawa.net and the domain has expired. Does anybody know anything and hopefully save a valuable resource? Lots of amazing info and pictures there. it'll be a shame to lose it.

600 miles north

I just got the same results you did PG. I have been wondering if something happened to the webmaster, since the last few years no one has been able to get ahold of him for issues facing the website. It will be a shame if the info that was on that site is lost forever. there is definitely a great start here, but so much history on kipawa.net.

600 miles north is where I'd rather be!

I also checked after I saw pucksters  notice.  Same result.
Does aNY of the moderators from there have any clues?

Sorry,can't help.
It has been virtually impossible to get hold of the site owner.
Good thing we have this forum.

Possibly I could help with a little info about how this works when referencing to generalities. When a domain comes up for renewal, the domain owner receives a notice to renew the domain. (Mine is $10) Sometimes once a domain has expired, if there is a domain very close, such as, in this case, KipawaFishingForum, I have in the past received a message asking if I would like to buy the domain. But if a person purchases it, all he is getting is the domain, nothing else. No threads, pics, or anything that was on the old site. I have not received a message about it being for sale, but without all the history, I would not be interested. It is sad to see it go. I feel bad about it, but if he would have tended to shop and made some attempt to fix the problems that arose, we all wouldn't be faced with this.  :(

A letdown to probably have lost the information accumulated there.   :-\

Agreed.......there was a lot of history there.

May be lost, but did you actually go there to look at that information?

Personally, I'll admit that I haven't spent much time on either forum over the last year, but I did like looking through old threads and pictures etc.

I read a lot of when I first got here.

Cmdr. Bluegill

I contacted the webmaster of the Kipawa.net site and recently received a reply indicating the site and board would be back up within two weeks.  If you like looking at the old threads, keep your eyes open for its return....

Thanks Cmdr. I'm really glad it will be back. Dog, I'm especially glad all your time and effort on the trip reports will be saved. I really enjoy going back and reading about everyone's trip each year. Thanks again Cmdr. and also a big thanks to Nancy, John, and all you moderators who keep all this up and running !!!! 35 more days !!!!!!
