Whew...glad to put those holidays behind me. Hope everyone had a nice enjoyable season with family and friends and got everything they wanted from Santa.

Was just thinking about the calendar turning over to another year last night...typically means that The Canada Trip Countdown isn't far off. For me personally, it starts at the 180 day mark...and I'm sure there is a group of you that are below that baseline.

So, let's get the banter going! Where you going? When you going? What do you expect "new" this year? For me, we're heading up to Alwaki Lodge that spillover week from July to August. Prime time. Solid fishing, MUCH fewer bugs, good thunderstorms, just all-around the best week of the season if you ask me. We have a load (as I've said before) going this year and are now holding steady at (9) guys. Should be a laugh riot, if nothing else. "New" for me this year? More exploring both the water and the land. Who knows...I may even try fishing for lakers this year.  :o

Betcha it's cold up there now. Wonder if the lake is froze-over yet?

Be good everyone...see you on the Board...

@T-Bone

I got ya beat at 185 (but who's counting).  Ogas again and for a "new" this will be first time 2 weeks in a row.  We will use up the bright sunny days and save the good thunderstorms for you.  GOOD LUCK

John
Smile, every one will wonder what you have been up to.

RHYBAK

according to the countdown clock,I have 164.

I have been restricted to mid May before I can discuss any planning.
I have everything.
I need nothing.
Does anybody want some?

193 more LONG days until the TBL outpost with my son, Jon. As for something new, maybe we'll get on the water before 9:00 AM on a few days! Also, I think we'll try trolling this year. We haven't done that for a few years. I'd also like to explore more areas like Wolf Bay and down towards Smith Bay Camp. What ever we do or don't do I'm pretty sure we'll enjoy it.

SgtCrabby

168 days,  until I leave the house.
At Ogascanan again.
New; a couple of our group are looking at staying around the Kipawa area for several additional days and help out on a cabin.

Other than that, specific details are yet to be determined.

@T-Bone Keep me posted and I'll try and have a group up the same time, make for a great fry and beverages.
I'm sure I'll be up for opener as usual and get the island fired up. Haven't heard of any projects yet but know we will be expanding solar system.
Eric had twins in fall so with three very young kids his time is limited. But he's looking forward to when old enough they can enjoy camp.

164 days and 206 days for me, I believe! If every thing goes right for the year. Can't wait, Alwaki Lodge!

204 days for my group.  We will be going to Watson Lake again, God willing that the camp is operating this year!  Same group of guys but with one addition (newbie). Really looking forward to it!

131 for me if not sooner, with the lack of snow we've been having, entirely possible....

puckster_guy

I agree with michele... I'm up as soon as the roads are passable. Getting the bread together now so the contractor can finish my place. He wants to start in Aprill. Going to the bank to ki$$ some a$$ so I can git'er done. All that'll be left to do is some landscaping. That I'll take my sweet time doing over the next few years. I got beer to drink and fish to catch. That place has been taking all my time and money. It's all good tho. I can't take those things with me when the guy upstairs calls me home.....hopefully he can wait a long while......Joe
Days spent fishing don't count against life :)

SnodT2120

We went to Ogascanan this past year but we won't be returning to Canada for any fishing trip. Kind of bittersweet. First time we haven't went since 2003. But hey, good luck to everyone else.

T-Bone

Bummer on not being able to go this year Snod, but it looks like a good census of status quo for many of us. I wonder if @KSmithy still goes up to Ogas every year? Don't hear from him much anymore.

Our group grew by another (2) guys over the weekend (both have been to Kipawa before)...now we're up to 11/12 for sure. Wow...biggest trip I've been a part of dating back to the mid-1970s.

Better get the request in for a bigger Bleue Barge...and call Labatt to inform them they'd better increase the production forecast in June/July...

I'm 187 days - looks like I am a week earlier than you T-Bone - back to Alwaki.

Not sure who is going with me at this point, but my 2 buddies I went with last year have other family summer plans this year.  I have several other friends who are interested... I will have to finalize that soon!

Soooo looking forward to it!

Cheers,
Greg

Happy new year everyone. I am at 144  and going back to Bush Country Camp. Seems like a long time but there is a Pa. Trout season and Crappie fishing  before that. T- Bone, was looking for a report on the Kawartha lake excursion . was there anything noteworthy, like a 50 inch musky?
So many lures and so little time.

T-Bone

HAH!!! Well...went to Pigeon Lake with three of my favorite people, had glorious autumn weather the whole time, and soaked all of it in from morning until night the short 3 days we were there. We fished, but not very hard. The lake was quite choppy most of the time, and the camp boats were quite small and uncomfortable. So no...no 50" muskies. Can't wait to do it again next autumn...
