How would you all compare the fishing on Kipawa to a lake like Lady Evelyn?   I am curious what one would consider a good day of Walleye fishing in the summer months.   On Evelyn, I think we could count on at least 10-12 Walleye per person a day, but sometimes many more if they turned on in the evenings.

Thanks!

That sounds like a normal day on Kipawa.

 Not fair of a question.

I have had 50-60 fish days.
It all depends on FACTORS such as:
Which month
What part of the lake
How many hours a day are you on the water.

Main factor is when????
My June fishing has been a lot more successful than my July and September fishing.

I was wondering about late June, July and August - Summer, basically.   Fishing for 12 to 15 hours per day.   Not sure where, that was going to be another question.

With that kind of effort 20 fish each shouldn't be an issue. With huge numbers on a good day. Lots of big Pike and Lakers as well. Once you find the fish you should do well.

I can live with that.  Now, which part of the lake would be a good choice when targeting all four species of fish?   I've considered 3 Seasons Camp, TBL and Two Moon Lodge in the past.

I have fished on both of these lakes.  I have had better catching on the Kipawa lakes.
But, Lady Evelyn was my first walleye fishing experience, so you could argue I didn't know what I was doing, and I didn't.

But, also look at the regulations of what's a keeper;  Kipawa does not have the same size restictions  Lady Evelyn does. Personally for me, Kipawa wins.
As for where to fish Kipawa, others here are much more knowledgeable on Kipawa than me,  listen to their recommendations.

Seems to me just find the prettiest section of the lake, Fish there, walleye are everywhere. I find fish most times I try a new spot. Don't matter trolling or jigging.

That's a lot of fishing time, well done. I've found anywhere on Kipawa, good sonar finds them, anchor and jig them up with 1/4oz jig head no more then 8lb mono needed. Can't find them, find a current break they are usually there.

3 great choices
I stay at 3Seasons and have for over 10 years.
No complaints at all.
Fishing is great
Accommodations are great
Boats are great
All good fishing is within a 20 minute boat ride

Thanks for the replies.  Still doing some research on all the lodges.   Most look pretty good to me!    Two Moons stands out for me though, I like the upgrade boats =).

I have already been scouring the bathy maps marking potential summer Walleye and Laker spots =).

i BELIEVE THEY ONLY HAVE ONE BOAT FOR THE UPGRADE,SO FIRST COME FIRST SERVE

I believe you are correct.    If we decide to go to TML, let's hope we are first!! =)

I figured I should probably post a follow up to my questions.    We decided to stay at Two Moon Lodge and will be there the last week of June.   I wanted to stay in the northern section of the lake as I am guessing it sees less fishing pressure.  I also want to get as "remote" a feeling as I can.  So, being as far away from Laniel and Kipawa as possible should be the better choice.   I also wanted a bigger boat because there are three of us, and from what I could tell, only TML offers that.    Having the ability to easily explore such a large lake is a nice bonus as well.  One thing I should mention is that anyone looking at lodging on this lake, that in addition to the first three lodges, I also looked at Cedar Valley Lodge and Alwaki (which is centrally located).    All great looking places.   Alwaki looked very appealing to me because that area of the lake looks like it holds some tremendous fishing structure.    Perhaps next time!

I already purchased my first piece of tackle for my trip, a Freedom Minnow Spoon.   I often don't buy much tackle these days because I already have enough to stock my own store.   However, I think this spoon is unique and should work well on Walleye and Lakers.

This thread is very timely. I spent four days fishing Lady Evilyn Lake last summer. I was disappointed with the fishing. That is the reason I joined this forum recently. I will probably be visiting Kipawa this summer if the out of province license isn't to dear.
