i was at the London fishing and Outdoors show and Chalet Diane had a booth there. I was impressed when I talked with the operators and am considering a trip.
What I would like to know is how is the fishing in general and specifically the Smallmouth bass fishing as that is what I prefer to target as well as a few walleye to eat.
I After looking around the forum I notice there are a number of camps on the lake. Is there a lot of fishing pressure on the lake ?
I'm considering going in June or late August.
How much is a Quebec out of province license.

Days spent fishing don't count against life :)

I have been going to Chalet Diane for the last 45 years.  I was supposed to help at the show but couldn't make it.  Everyone will say this end or that end of the lake is better but I always do well at the Laniel end.  Ralph will fix you up with everything you need.

Hi Canoebuck, welcome to the board. I've never fished the Laniel area, but there is excellent bass fishing at Taggart Bay Lodge. We don't target them, but we get some monsters each year. 3 16 inches and over last year. Great lodge too.

These were a few of the nice ones we got at the Taggart Bay end.

While I did 17 trips to 3 Seasons Camp (north eastern arm of Lake Kipawa) up to and including 2013, if I remember correctly, it was only during the last 5 of those trips or so that I caught small mouth bass up there. Have the small mouth bass populated the entire lake now?

Jay

P.S. Some nice pictures guys. Thanks.

It seems they showed up about 5 years ago.  They are in the Laniel end and the Kipawa River.  Las year I saw some monsters in a friends boathouse b4 opening day

Those are some nice Smallmouth.   Great fighting fish and fun to play with when the Walleye aren't cooperating.

I gotta make a trip to those smallmouth waters. I haven't caught a smallie since I last fished Georgian Bay about 6 years ago. I almost miss fishing for them. Too bad we don't have Musky, lol.

How far of a run from Corbeau Island? I'm a bass guy so once I find a weekend that's not construction I'll running for them. Hopefully get a week up there this summer and get a couple days of bass in.

Using Google Earth, it's approximately 13 miles from Eric's cottage to Loon Bay (I've caught small mouth there). From Loon Bay, you can explore north towards Taggart Bay Lodge or north east towards Cedar Valley Lodge. So much water, so little time.

There are also lots of bass in MacAdams Bay

Corbeau Island is almost an hour from my place. How much further would I need to go to find bass? Where's McAdams bay?

Laniel end of the lake.  Its on the map.  My niece caught a 4ib bass on a Barbie fishing rod in there.  Really they are not hard to find lol
