I believe fisherman are some of the most superstitious men and women on the planet (me included). So do you all have a good luck charm in the tackle box? Something you have to do for luck?  Some way you always start your fishing trip?

I'ts not something I do, it's what I bring.  I've never gone north without a certain ball cap in my bag.  I don't wear it but if I leave without it I have the worst luck.  I treat it as my lucky charm.

I take my Mitchell 300 that my husband bought me for my birthday about 25 years ago. It has never missed a trip to Lake Kipawa.

My good luck is simple.  I take up all my lucky lures.  Most are never used due to age and lack of being able to be replaced. I have several storm pre Rapala gray scale hot n tots.  They are by far the most consistent lures I have used at Kipawa, but I would hate to lose one.  The new gray scale is just not as good.

Mine isn't in my tackle box, but in a plastic water tight bin. I have a flare gun, road flares, an air horn, a large SOS banner, 50 feet of nylon rope, water, some beef jerky, tools, and a rolled up tarp. Pretty much anything I might need in an emergency. I've never needed any of them, but I'm pretty sure if I take them out I surely will. They've been good luck so far.

Balsams

A little old squirt bottle of muskol. Would never use it - for one back then they pretty much used poison, and two because it's soooooo old it will surely be a heightened poison. Sometimes I'll just open it up to smell the nostalgia, and it immediately brings me back. Consciously I leave it in there, I consider it a luck thing.

So, being from Ohio, I have to carry a buckeye in my tackle box...also have a lure my kids gave me one year for fathers day and all wrote their names on the lure.

I will twist  this thread in a different direction reporting on something our Coca Cola group from the Hammer NEVER EVER bring on our yearly fishing adventures as it is thought to bring us bad luck ........ This pariah of the depths is an instant fish batter know as "Fish Crisp".Years ago ,some 25years ago, a box of Fish Crisp was blamed for our lack of fishing success while fishing the south channel of Parry Sound . From that day forth even the mention of the product brings out the scowls and jeers from all long standing members including myself Pike Mike , Smurf , Johnny Shad Rap and Scotty
