600 miles north

Although I have been to the river, I have never fished the river. That might be something to try this year with the 3 small boys we will have with us. Those of you familiar with the river, where do most people fish? At the base of the dam? Or are there spots down the river to walk to.

Is the bite the same in the river as it is in the lake, like just before dusk and early in the morning? What do you mostly fish with on the river? Crank baits, slip bobbers?

I remember years ago watching people use spearguns while snorkling in the river...

It depends on whether the dam is opened or closed.  Right now its partially open so I am told it is good below the dam.  There is another spot for Walleye I have just found out about that's a little out of town.  I will check these out and get back to you as your time gets closer.  A couple of friends know daily where to fish and how to fish lol
