Okay...I know we've done this one before but I got $50.00 in gift cards to Bass Pro for Christmas and I need to replenish my tackle box.  Here's the question all:  What is your go to lure/spoon for walleye and/or northern pike?  I'll tell you now my favorite is gold/silver or metallic blue hot n' tot but I can't buy just those! So help me out ladies and gents! (By the way they are running a 50% off sale on some items and free shipping so I gotta get on it!)

Just buy what is on sale and spend your card.
Doesn't matter because you won't use it anyways.

Jig heads with bait will only be used. ;) ;D

Buy a few packages of the Berkley minnow that Canuckbass posted in a past thread

@RHYBAK  ;D how right you are about what will actually be used! My former father-in-law always said that lures are designed more to catch fishermen than fish!

At this stage in life , terminal tackle needs replacing.... hooks, sinkers, floats, float stops, jigheads, line .

How about a new Leech Bag?
New Fillet Knife
Knife sharpener

LOL.... I guess I avoided your actual question.

I troll with reef Runners  or Hot-n-Tots
Worm Harnesses.

Cast DareDevils for pike

@RHYBAK I did order some of the Berkley baits and jigs that @Canuckbass has posted about!

On a fly in trip to Lac Hebert in 2014, I was shown how to use 5 and 6 inch Berkley PowerBait swim baits (Ripple Shad) for walleye and northern pike. I was impressed with their performance. Definitely worth having in your tackle box.

As most know I'm not a live bait guy. When using plastic baits like Berkley Powerminnow I keep them moving and mimicking a minnow. I just don't dangle over side of the boat and wait. Keep them moving slow and let the tail inticipate a strike. If fishing straight below boat, just keep Rod moving back and forth slowly and you'll get bit. I'll also cast or flip out from boat and slowly crawl it back in just off bottom.
A lot is contact and feel of the jig, should feel every touch of your bait.
Confidence is key.
Happy purchasing!!

I figured I can replenish lures/baits now so that when the birthday rolls around in June a new rod and reel combo is in order...

Sounds like you have your equipment replacements planned out well NJ.

What a sickness , this tackle thing.

It seems that every time I go into a sporting goods store now a days, I'm putting two packages of the Berkley minnows onto the counter.

The other day I went into SAIL to check out some ice fishing lures.
They didn't have the particular lure that I wanted but guess what, I saw some Berkley minnows.
Also ended up looking at and buying circle hooks to try out on those pesky walleye.

Okay...I'll bite. So with these Power Minnows, is there a particular size / color that seems to produce better than another? Given the forage on Kipawa is likely perch, fallfish, or baby pike and walleye, I'd guess those are the 'look' we should be going for. However, my tiny Fuzz-E-Grubs in chartreuse or white, or a twister tail in white are my bread and butter...and they certainly don't "look like" any of those forage species.

Interested...but Lord knows I need no more tackle...certainly no more plastics.

Embrace every moment...you only get it once

Well, according to Canuckbass and the picture he posted, the colour would be SMELT

I've only ever bought SMELT colour and no reason to try another colour.

I had some homemade similar body bait, was black on top and white belly... they were awesome too!! Then I ran out.
