Safe travels guy's. Hope everything wintered well at your camps. Bringing my boat up on Wednesday, if  the lake is ice free will be going to camp. So it begins, season # 30,  WOW! but who's counting.

My neighbor in North Bay told me last night that the Provincial gov't is spending 1.5 M on the Red Pine Chutes road that stretches from Maniwake to Bearn roads. Not sure when they're starting but that might affect travel on these roads.
He has a camp near you Puckster.

I'm here!!!
Arrived yesterday about noon. Very nice day yesterday today a whole different story  Got soaked this morning working on the dock in now for some soup and to dry out

I little snow still in the bush and a bit on the road in but actually the roads are in good shape.

Trout Lake in North Bay is still pretty much ice covered and most small lakes with no current are still ice covered.

Temiskaming is ice free from my camp near Point Antoine south to the town of Temiscaming.

Cheers
Rick

Wow that would be awesome. That road is always a mess. It'll be rough going in next week. Do I Know him? Prob do.

We were hoping to go this past weekend but were not too sure how the back roads off the Bearn were in terms of snow...glad we didn't go, my neighbours had to take their bike in. Oh well, 24 more sleeps til our holidays :).

Wayne...did you make it into camp? Wonder if ice is off fully yet. I'd bet so....

One of our gang spoke to JAMES today, he said bays still have ice in them but lake is opening up. Water level is way down but rising daily now. He said 7 to 10 days we should be able to launch our big boat. Think I'm less then 30 days away now!!

Launched the Lund around 1 pm. Headed up the Lake was doing great, 30 miles per hour. A little ice to dodge nothing serious till I reached Corbeau. Then ice as far as you could see. Turned around will try again tomorrow. It was a beautiful day. :)
