Although we have heard some positive developments with regards to re-opening plans from both Quebec and Ontario, I have yet to hear a timeline for the border re-opening. Has anyone heard anything official?

I have not but I have been looking it up.  Still says essential only travel across the border.  I know they are doing roaming check points on the Quebec border at my place.  I know some people have been turned around at our border crossing but it was because of going to stock the fridge not to fish.  I was talking to Bryson Lodge today and they are taking bookings as if we can get across the border to fish in quebec.

It looks like Ontario and Quebec are in unison are the border closure. Hopefully when the stay at home order ends in June 2nd in Ontario the border closures will also end as Quebec has already opened.

Trying to find out information on the border status between Ontario and Quebec. Someone sent me this link this morning as to an extension (#6)...which if it holds will screw up our trip June 5. Anyone else find out anything please post.   https://www.ontario.ca/laws/regulation/r21381

The border closure in Ontario is got non residents only, I believe residents can still cross from Quebec to Ontario. However, the current restrictions are Quebec not allowing Ontario residents to cross, which hasn’t been extended yet. However I assume if Ontario is so will Quebec

That sucks for you guys heading up the 1st week of June. This thing can't end soon enough!

Beyond frustrated at this point. You can have 2600 people in Montreal attend a hockey game but I can't travel from non problem area to isolate in a cabin for a week. Thanks GTA for making Ontario a f****** prison. Holy heck our province sucks!!

Sorry but needed to vent. I know I'm not alone.

Kyle I can relate to your frustration.  I'm 45 and I have had the pleasure of fishing the wonder of Lake Kipawa since I was twelve.   My late Father introduced me to the awesomeness of that great body of water. This will be the second year that I have not be rewarded the opportunity to enjoy the opportunity to get away from everything and enjoy the experience.   I hope everyone is staying healthy and safe!!

This is an absolute joke.

This ban is cutting it close for those of us scheduled to go in on the 18th
I hope it’s not extended further

One would think that approximately 60% vaccinated, numbers dropping daily, summer weather and we would see restrictions relaxed? Instead we get another 2 week extension on inter-provincial borders and other very low risk items such as camping. Not sure when the Quebec/Ontario border will reopen. Seeming more and more political.

Don't be so harsh

After a year and a half of this, you should be accepting it by now.

It may not stem on the facts that you pointed out but more about how full the ICU's are.

those are the numbers the provinces want to see drop.
Get the hospitals emptied and not increased.
What will be will be.

I agree with Campkipawa. The province was not prepared for any emergency relative to hospital beds needed for this kind of an emergency. They didn't even have enough beds and staff for the population as it was. The shut downs could have been avoided if they were ready with the appropriate number of extra space needed before. A couple of years ago just before my Dad died we rushed him to the new hospital in downsview. He spent 4 days in a crowded hallway and was discharged back to the nursing home before he needed to or was ready to leave. A lot of this is political BS.

Days spent fishing don't count against life :)

It’s all political at this point. Make no mistake. If u think it’s about the virus anymore or cases or rates or hospital rooms you need to find another source of information. There are plenty of ICU beds for the current state...I’d bet <25% of capacity now...likely way less. Who’s gonna blink first...Joe or Justin? Answer: Who needs the money more?
