Just a thought
If any of us here are associated with instagram, how about hash tagging this forum so that we can share both this forum and kipawa pictures or any other fishing pictures?

Maybe Nancy can register a kipawafishingforun.net account for all of us to contribute to?

Maybe some members already have accounts and would like to have existing members follow them and vice-versa.

Don't have or use Instagram...and not likely to jump on-board as I look for reasons to put my phone down, not to pick it up; don't even know where it is half the time.

And a good one...I was just commenting that I don't use it ...most social media is not my thing as (1) I don't feel the need to share everything I'm doing with everyone I know all the time and (2) It's invasive of a simpler approach to what's really important. I'd better be careful here...next thing you know I'm on my soap box about how smarts phones are the certain beginning of the fall of mankind...

It is a good thought @RHYBAK
Although, I tend to be in the same social media avoidance camp as @T-Bone .

RHYBAK

To anybody here that is a member of Instagram, all you have to do is hashtag some pictures as Kipawa and they will be seen.

Hey Rhybak, what if my account is private? Will ppl still see my photo?

RHYBAK

My account is private but my pictures will show up where I hash tag it.

Nobody will see any of your other pictures if they tried to look at your account.

I've only been to this lake once, but already feel like I want to hide it don't tell anyone LOL!

Facebook, Instagram & Twitter..worst things that can happen to a good fishing lake.. that's just my 2 cents  ;)

GregL - that is the smartest thing I have read this week!   Well said.

I could only see this as an opportunity for the lodge owners to increase their business.

I think most lodge owners use social media for marketing to some degree already. And I'm trying to recall, but it seemed like when I started going up in 2000 there were 2x as many lodges / camps operating as there are today...a true testament that 'only the strong survive'. At current roster, I think most outfitters are pretty well booked over the season, but not completely booked. Sure, rates will go up with the passage of time, but unlikely to aggressively inflate because demand exceeds supply. Still a fair value for a week vacation in paradise...

From what I can tell, Lake Kipawa is not a secret, just a bit out of reach for the masses...in either cost, or willing distance from home, or simply too remote (if there could ever be such a thing).   :D

Well, If I have service out on the lake and am fortunate to catch anything, I will be posting pictures on Instagram and I will be hash tagging Kipawa.
Anybody interested can search kipawa to check the pictures.
