Yeah, and 57 days from now you'll be on the road crying 'wee wee wee' all the way home.

I'll bet'cha can't wait to get that new rig out to your favorite spots. It's gonna be sweet....

78 Days and I'll be on my way... whoohooo...

Got the new boat home in the driveway and am about 60% through organizing, storing gear and setting it up.  Anxious is not the word - 3 weeks to opening day here on the Ottawa river.

Sooooo much bloody rain - I can't finish setting up the boat and the water level on the river is extremely high - flooding levels in some places... people are posting on local facebood groups "set of stairs, colour is green, just floated by" - patio furniture cushions, plastic chairs, etc.  All kinds of weird reports - it is going to take a couple of hot dry weeks for the river to come back down and all the debris to float away before anybody will be brave enough to put their boats in.

If everything works out I'll be there in 23 days... May squeeze up earlier if I can. Need lake to rise a bit.

Water levels should be on the rise. In muskoka water is very high, and Lake ON is highest level in decades. There must be controls put in place for Kipawa region to keep it regulated. High water makes for good spawn. 26 days......

Kip lake levels were down as typical in the spring last week. But in the 4 days i was there it must have risen about 6 inches.the chutes is white water.

Finally, I get down to 99 days tomorrow.
Which will probably be in the middle of a string of days over 100 degrees (F).   I wonder how Dog will deal with it.

Big boat launched last night, water being turned on today... just need fishing season to open!! Warmer temps would help too!

Lakers are open. Heading up wed to fri. gotta see if I have time to wet a line. This place is as much work as pleasure. Can't wait to retire. :)

I am 87 days till my first trip to Kipawa. There is a lot of anticipation building and money being spent  ;) This trip will be including some very close family members, making it even more anticipated. One uncle, a cousin and my son-in-law. My Uncle lives 7 hrs away and text me almost daily with pictures of stuff he's preparing and packing  :) As I've learned long ago, planning a trip can be half the fun. My hopes for our first trip are simple ones, that my cell phone won't have signal and can I keep my beer cold, everything else "including catching fish" will be a bonus.
