I'll be hauling our complete crew, all equipment, provisions, and a boat;  so road conditions are important to me.

Wow...I can't imagine that trip. It would either be a lot of fun, or a lot of anguish. For me, probably the latter. Any more than 12-hours in a vehicle I start to lose it; throw in a gassy friend, a cranky comrade, and a traffic jam or two and I just become silent and brooding. According to Google Maps, that's got to be 25 plus hours in a vehicle. Whew.

"This just in. Upon arrival in Kipawa they found T-Bone curled-up on the floor in the fetal position...mumbling jibberish about jigs and leeches and something he kept calling 'his happy friend, Mr. Bleue'..."

Ha ha ha!!! I drink Bud at home so that would be fine. Coors Light is good if you've just finished mowing the lawn and it's 108F outside....other than that, just drink water. Canadian is not creamy enough...but I could drink it in a pinch.  ::)

Out of blue is bad enough.
Just don't let them run out of Bleue...
I'll need some on arrivial in Temiscaming, after 4 days on the road.

DumoineCap

@T-Bone , your guesstimate of 25+ hours isn't for off.   For the routes I'm taking to pickup the rest of our crew in PA, is listed at 29 hours on the road (+ those very pesky traffic issues).
It can become quite grueling, especially when I'm on the return trip when Kipawa is done till the next year.

Our happy friend, Mr. Bleue needs to meet me.

Am I in Canada yet!

I just got into camp. all roads are smooth and fast.Red pine rd. is the best I've ever seen it.Doing record speeds and drifting in the corners lol. Both Maniwaki and red pine are in relatively good shape.

Thanks for the update puck.

There's a reason I prefer driving over flying;  I have logged more takeoffs than landings.

puckster_guy

Any landing you walk away from is a good landing....Jumping out of a perfectly good airplane is a different matter lol.

SgtCrabby

Yes sir; getting out of a perfectly good aircraft should only be done when it is parked.

As far as I know there are about25 lots up for grabs averaging about 60 k each for a fully wooded lot. it'll cost you about 12 grand to cut in a driveway and clear an acre at the front (lake side). Still in mu opinion an awesome deal for a piece of paradise. In mid july I still have most of the lake to my self. Royal lePage has the selling rights and the land is currently owned by Commonwealth. A logging company in the area. more info on request...

Is there any more information on the lots for sale? Is there a boat launch near by to access the lots on the peninsula? Any additional information or pictures on the road and lots would be appreciated. Thank you!
If it ain't broke don't fix it.

This is the real estate listing for the lots up for sale. Check that out ....https://www.royallepage.ca/en/qc/kipawa/properties/

Thank you. We have already been in contact with the real estate agent in regards to the lots. I was just looking for some unbiased information. Any idea on a nearby launch?

Ya, just as you drive over the bridge on the right is a short driveway. You can launch there. You can drive under the bridge, just keep your motor up. even in the rapids of spring. I drive a 17 foot Crestliner and have no problem going back and forth. Excellent fishing in the area no bass lots of walleye and pike. Lakers are sporadic. If I'm at camp stop by for a beer.
